There is also a danger of premature ejaculation, depression, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, impotence and sexual dysfunction. In addition, the use of testosterone therapy may have certain negative consequences on sexual health such as decreased libido and erectile dysfunction.
Men suffering from pituitary adenoma should not undergo testosterone therapy. Pregnant women should avoid testosterone therapy if their menopause symptoms are accompanied by abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, headaches, hot flashes, vaginal dryness or painful sex during the early part of pregnancy. Pregnant women must seek the advice of their gynecologist instead of trying to treat symptoms themselves. A doctor can properly diagnose the cause of symptoms associated with hypogonadism and prescribe proper treatment for the condition.
